Zone-wise Earning from Passenger Trains from 2016-17 to 2018-19

The top 5 zones with respect to earning from passenger trains during 2018-19 were northern, central, south central, north central and western.

The earning from passenger trains running in northern zone was Rs. 6,512.04 crore during 2018-19, up by 2.44% against Rs. 6,357.2 crore during 2017-18. The earning from passenger trains running in central zone was Rs. 5,368.91 crore in 2017-18. It has increased by 6.77% to Rs. 5,732.15 crore during 2018-19 over 2017-18. We have observed annual growth of 6.28% in earning from passenger trains running in south central zone to Rs. 5,166.53 crore during 2018-19 versus Rs. 4,861.18 crore during 2017-18.

The earning from passenger trains running in north central zone was Rs. 4,993.07 crore and in western zone was Rs. 4,712.72 crore during 2018-19. Annual growth of 4.99% and 3.77% has been seen in earning from passenger trains running in north central and western zone respectively during 2018-19 above 2017-18.
