The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as a whole was Rs. 826117.43 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. There were 10 states having Wage Liability (Payment Due) of more than Rs. 25000 lakhs under MGNREGA viz. West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Nagaland, Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya as on 31.03.2016.
The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in West Bengal was Rs. 246391.83 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. It was 29.83% of the Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as on 31.03.2016.
The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 66363.29 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. It was 8.03% of the Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as on 31.03.2016. The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Chhattisgarh was Rs. 63579.5 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. It was 7.7% of the Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as on 31.03.2016.
The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Kerala was Rs. 50573.23 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. It was 6.12% of the Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as on 31.03.2016. The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Assam was Rs. 48766.45 lakhs as on 31.03.2016. It was 5.9% of the Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as on 31.03.2016.
These 5 states accounted for 57.58% of the total Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as a whole as on 31.03.2016.
The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 48002.71 lakhs as on 31.03.2016 (5.81% of All India). The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Bihar was Rs. 45431.98 lakhs as on 31.03.2016 (5.5% of All India). The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Nagaland was Rs. 29177.46 lakhs as on 31.03.2016 (3.53% of All India). The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Jammu and Kashmir was Rs. 27504.12 lakhs as on 31.03.2016 (3.33% of All India). The Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in Meghalaya was Rs. 25883.69 lakhs as on 31.03.2016 (3.13% of All India).
The above mentioned 10 states accounted for 78.88% of the total Wage Liability (Payment Due) under MGNREGA in India as a whole as on 31.03.2016.
There were 4 states/UTs having Wage Liability (Payment Due) of less than Rs. 100 lakhs under MGNREGA viz. Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Puducherry and Lakshadweep as on 31.03.2016.
