Value of Imported Stores Purchased by Railways from 2000-01 to 2013-14

Stores – Supplies of materials or parts whether purchased externally or manufactured in railway workshops required for working the railway.

The value of stores imported directly by the Railways in the year 2000-01 was Rs. 281.05 crores. The value of imported stores purchased in India by the Railways in the year 2000-01 was Rs. 180.8 crores.

The value of stores imported directly by the Railways in the year 2005-06 was Rs. 371.85 crores. It recorded a growth of Rs. 90.8 crores (32.31%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The value of imported stores purchased in India by the Railways in the year 2005-06 was Rs. 49.2 crores. It recorded a decline of Rs. -131.6 crores (-72.79%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The value of stores imported directly by the Railways in the year 2010-11 was Rs. 1040.17 crores. It recorded a growth of Rs. 668.32 crores (179.73%) as compared to the year 2005-06. The value of imported stores purchased in India by the Railways in the year 2010-11 was Rs. 42.27 crores. It recorded a decline of Rs. -6.93 crores (-14.09%) as compared to the year 2005-06.

The value of stores imported directly by the Railways in the year 2013-14 was Rs. 1984.43 crores. It recorded a growth of Rs. 944.26 crores (90.78%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The value of imported stores purchased in India by the Railways in the year 2013-14 was Rs. 204.53 crores. It recorded a growth of Rs. 162.26 crores (383.87%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The value of stores imported directly by the Railways recorded a growth of Rs. 1703.38 crores (606.08%) during the period 2000-01 to 2013-14. The value of imported stores purchased in India by the Railways recorded a growth of Rs. 23.73 crores (13.13%) during the period 2000-01 to 2013-14.
