Vacancy of Faculties in Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs) as on 09th December 2019

Totally 9,718 teachers were sanctioned for Indian Institutes of Technologies(IITs) as on 09th December 2019; out of which 3,709 (38.17%) were vacancy of faculties and 6,009 (61.83%) were in position. The top 5 IITs with respect to maximum percentage of vacant posts of faculties as on 09/12/2019 against the sanctioned strength were IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Dharwad, IIT Goa, IIT BHU (Varanasi) and IIT Bhilai.

The number of vacant posts of faculties was 477 (61.08%) in IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as on 09th December 2019, out of sanctioned strength of 781 teachers. There were 50 vacant posts of faculties in IIT Dharwad as on 09/12/2019, which accounted 53.76% of 93 teachers sanctioned. The number of vacant posts of faculties was 49 (52.69%) in IIT Goa as on 09.12.2019, out of sanctioned strength of 93 teachers.

As on 09th December 2019, there were 317 (52.14%) and 46 (49.46%) vacant posts of faculties in IIT BHU (Varanasi) and IIT Bhilai respectively against its sanctioned strength.
