The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India was 221.54 million as on 31.01.2016. There were 10 Telecom Service Areas having subscriber base of internet users in urban area of more than 10 million viz. Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, UP (East) and Bihar as on 31.01.2016.
The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Tamil Nadu was 20.54 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 9.27% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016. Tamil Nadu was the only Telecom Service Area having subscriber base of internet users in urban area of more than 20 million.
The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Maharashtra was 19.15 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 8.64% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016. The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Delhi was 18.73 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 8.45% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016.
The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Karnataka was 16.41 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 7.41% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016. The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Andhra Pradesh was 15.73 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 7.1% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016. The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Mumbai was 15.3 million as on 31.01.2016. It had a share of 6.91% in the total subscriber base of internet users in urban area in India as on 31.01.2016.
The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Gujarat was 14.57 million as on 31.01.2016 (6.58% share in All India). The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Madhya Pradesh was 13.21 million as on 31.01.2016 (5.96% share in All India). The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in UP (East) was 10.65 million as on 31.01.2016 (4.81% share in All India). The subscriber base of internet users in urban area in Bihar was 10.29 million as on 31.01.2016 (4.64% share in All India).
