Total Import v/s Export of Crude Oil & Petroleum Products by India from 2011-12 to 2017-18

Total import of crude oil & petroleum products was US$ 153879 million by India during 2011-12, which includes US$ 139690 million (90.8%) as crude oil and US$ 14189 million (9.2%) as petroleum products. Total export of crude oil & petroleum products was US$ 59319 million by India during 2011-12, which was from export of petroleum products only. Hence there was a net import of US$ 94560 million as crude oil & petroleum products by India during 2011-12. We have observed annual growth of 3.67% in net import of crude oil & petroleum products by India to US$ 98035 million during 2012-13 above 2011-12.

Net import of crude oil & petroleum products in India was US$ 66305 million during 2017-18, up by 28.1% against US$ 51760 million during 2016-17. During 2017-18, total import of crude oil & petroleum products was US$ 101196 million and total export of crude oil & petroleum products was US$ 34891 million by India. Total import included US$ 87776 million (86.7%) as crude oil import and US$ 13420 million (13.3%) as petroleum products import by India during 2017-18, where as total export included only petroleum products.

The maximum value of US$ 98035 million seen in 2012-13 and minimum value of US$ 46865 million found in 2015-16 in net import of crude oil & petroleum products during the period under consideration. The maximum annual growth of 28.1% observed in 2017-18 and maximum annual decline of -39.6% seen in 2015-16 in net import of crude oil & petroleum products during the period under consideration.
