Top 5 Un-Natural Causes in terms of number of Un-Natural accidental Cases registered during 2015

Number of cases registered in India under Un-Natural Accidents were 636509 and 663483 during 2014 and 2015 respectively. In percentage term, it was increased by 4.2% in 2015 over 2014. Under these 663483 registered cases during 2015; 498195 persons reported injured and 336051 persons reported died. Out of 498195 injured persons; 404750 (81.24%) were male, 93400 (18.75%) were female and 45 (0.01%) were transgender. Out of 336051 death persons; 269277 (80.13%) were male, 66740 (19.86%) were female and 34 (0.01%) were transgender. Top 5 Un-Natural Causes in terms of number of Cases registered during 2015 were: Traffic Accidents, Other Causes, Drowning, Accidental Fire and Falls.

Due to Traffic Accidents, there were 481805 and 496762 cases registered in India during 2014 and 2015 respectively. It accounted 74.87% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India during 2015. Under these 496762 registered cases, 486567 persons reported injured; out of which 396391 (81.47%) were male, 90154 (18.53%) were female and 22 (0%) were transgender. Due to Other Causes, there were 58558 and 70701 cases registered in India during 2014 and 2015 respectively. It accounted 10.66% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India during 2015. Under these 70701 registered cases, 6861 persons reported injured; out of which 4823 (70.3%) were male, 2032 (29.62%) were female and 6 (0.09%) were transgender.

Due to Drowning, there were 29467 and 29232 cases registered in India during 2014 and 2015 respectively. It accounted 4.41% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India during 2015. Under these 29232 registered cases, 481 persons reported injured; out of which 375 (77.96%) were male, 106 (22.04%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender. Due to Accidental Fire, there were 20377 and 18450 cases registered in India during 2014 and 2015 respectively. It accounted 2.78% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India during 2015. Under these 18450 registered cases, 1193 persons reported injured; out of which 730 (61.19%) were male, 463 (38.81%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender.

Due to Falls, there were 17368 and 17433 cases registered in India during 2014 and 2015 respectively. It accounted 2.63% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India during 2015. Under these 17433 registered cases, 969 persons reported injured; out of which 711 (73.37%) were male, 250 (25.8%) were female and 8 (0.83%) were transgender.

These top 5 causes of Un-Natural accidental cases accounted for 95.34% of the total Un-Natural accidental cases registered in India as a whole during 2015.
