India has witnessed an increasing trend in Eri Silk Production from 2010-11 to 2015-16. We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 12.89% in production of Eri Silk from 2760 metric tonne during 2010-11 to 5060 metric tonne during 2015-16. We have seen an annual growth of 7.07% in production of Eri Silk in India during 2015-16 over the year 2014-15. There was a growth of 11.54% in production of Eri Silk in India from 4237 metric tonne during 2013-14 to 4726 metric tonne during 2014-15. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of production of Eri Silk during 2015-16 were: Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Uttar Pradesh.
Production of Eri Silk in Assam was 3143 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 62.11% of the total Eri Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Eri Silk in Meghalaya was 824 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 16.28% of the total Eri Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Eri Silk in Nagaland was 622 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 12.29% of the total Eri Silk produced in India during the year.
Production of Eri Silk in Manipur was 370 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 7.31% of the total Eri Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Eri Silk in Uttar Pradesh was 36 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 0.71% of the total Eri Silk produced in India during the year.
The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 98.72% of the total Eri Silk produced in India as a whole during 2015-16.
