Top 5 States with respect to Productivity of Onion during 2017-18

The top 5 states in terms of productivity of onion during 2017-18 were Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir and Bihar.

Productivity of onion in Haryana was 25.72 metric tonne (MT)/Ha during 2017-18, up by 16.75% against 22.03 MT/Ha during 2016-17. We have seen annual growth of 3.89% in productivity of onion in Madhya Pradesh from 24.67 MT/Ha during 2016-17 to 25.63 MT/Ha during 2017-18. Productivity of onion in Gujarat was 25 MT/Ha in each year during 2016-17 & 2017-18.

Productivity of onion in Jammu & Kashmir was 23.82 MT/Ha in each year in 2016-17 & 2017-18. Productivity of onion in Bihar was 23.1 MT/Ha in each year during 2016-17 & 2017-18.
