Top 5 Circles/States/UTs in terms of number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2016

The telecom services have been recognized the world-over as an important tool for socio economic development for a nation and hence telecom infrastructure is treated as a crucial factor to realize the socio-economic objectives in India. The top 5 Circles/States/UTs in terms of number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2016 were: Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 2.65% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used in Delhi from 2.71 million during 2010 to 3.17 million during 2016. In Delhi, there was annual growth of 1.29% and 0.96% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2015 and 2016 respectively compare to the previous year. We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 0.5% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used in Mumbai from 2.95 million during 2010 to 3.04 million during 2016. In Mumbai, there was annual growth of 0% and -0.65% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2015 and 2016 respectively compare to the previous year.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 3.81% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used in Tamil Nadu from 2.11 million during 2010 to 2.64 million during 2016. In Tamil Nadu, there was annual growth of -5.15% and -4.35% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2015 and 2016 respectively compare to the previous year. We have seen a compound annual growth rate of -6.58% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used in Kerala from 3.46 million during 2010 to 2.3 million during 2016. In Kerala, there was annual growth of -10.38% and -11.2% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2015 and 2016 respectively compare to the previous year.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of -3.39% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used in Karnataka from 2.78 million during 2010 to 2.26 million during 2016. In Karnataka, there was annual growth of -1.72% and -0.88% in number of Wireline Phones (Fixed DELs) used during 2015 and 2016 respectively compare to the previous year.
