The top 10 Telecom Service Areas in terms of Rural Internet Subscriber Base as on 31st March, 2017 was Uttar Pradesh (East), Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh including Chhatisgarh and Uttar Pradesh (West).

There were 13.41 million Rural Internet Subscriber Base in Uttar Pradesh (East) as on 31st March, 2017. The number of Rural Internet Subscriber Base was 12.1 million in Andhra Pradesh as on 31st March, 2017. There were 11.91 million Rural Internet Subscriber Base in Bihar as on 31st March, 2017.

As on 31st March, 2017; the number of Rural Internet Subscriber Base was 11.75, 8.8, 8.71, 8.26, 8.08, 7.7 and 7.1 million in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh including Chhatisgarh and Uttar Pradesh (West) respectively.
