Top 10 States/UTs in Consumer Price Index (CPI) as of January 2017

Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to State/UT wise Consumer Price Index with base year 2012 =100.

CPI for Daman and Diu was 141.5 in January 2017. It increased from 135.8 in January 2016, exhibiting an increase of 5.7 points in CPI during the period from January 2016 to January 2017.

CPI for Manipur was 138.4 in January 2017. It increased from 117.2 in January 2016, exhibiting an increase of 21.2 points in CPI during the period from January 2016 to January 2017. CPI for Sikkim was 137.2 in January 2017. It increased from 131.6 in January 2016, exhibiting an increase of 5.6 points in CPI during the period from January 2016 to January 2017.

CPI for Tripura was 137.1 in January 2017. It increased from 132.6 in January 2016, exhibiting an increase of 4.5 points in CPI during the period from January 2016 to January 2017. CPI for Nagaland was 136.8 in January 2017. It increased from 130.3 in January 2016, exhibiting an increase of 6.5 points in CPI during the period from January 2016 to January 2017.

Karnataka had CPI of 134.8 in January 2017, showing an increase of 3 points in CPI over January 2016. Andhra Pradesh had CPI of 133.9 in January 2017, showing an increase of 2.5 points in CPI over January 2016. Andaman and Nicobar had CPI of 133.3 in January 2017, showing an increase of 8.2 points in CPI over January 2016. Jammu and Kashmir had CPI of 133 in January 2017, showing an increase of 8.9 points in CPI over January 2016. Rajasthan had CPI of 132.8 in January 2017, showing an increase of 5.6 points in CPI over January 2016.
