In total there were 7469888 learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme during 2017-18; out of which 2111059 (28.3%) were male and 5358829 (71.3%) were female. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme during 2017-18 were Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Tamil Nadu.
The number of learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme in Bihar was 2288662 during 2017-18, down by -15.6% versus 2711906 during 2016-17. Out of the total 2288662 successful learners in Bihar during 2017-18, 354676 (15.5%) were male and 1933986 (84.5%) were female. We have seen annual decline of -53.4% in learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme in Uttar Pradesh from 2084021 during 2016-17 to 971836 during 2017-18. Out of the total 971836 successful learners in Uttar Pradesh, 350779 (36.1%) were male and 621057 (63.9%) were female. There were 962650 learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme in Rajasthan during 2017-18, down by -39.1% against 1580223 during 2016-17. Out of the total 962650 successful learners in Rajasthan, 281889 (29.3%) were male and 680761 (70.7%) were female.
There were 641994 and 622566 learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka respectively during 2017-18. Annual de-growth of -64.1% and -61.3% has been found in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka respectively in learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme during 2017-18.
The number of learners declared successful in basic literacy assessment test under Saakshar Bharat Programme in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Tamil Nadu was 491737, 346868, 254662, 221531 and 150007 respectively during 2017-18.
