Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin during 2017-18

The number of houses constructed in India was 2005644 under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) during 2017-18, down by -35.56% against 3112619 during 2016-17. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to houses constructed under PMAY-G during 2017-18 were West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat.

The number of houses constructed in West Bengal was 352087 under PMAY-G during 2017-18, which accounted 17.55% of the total houses constructed in India. There were 340731 houses constructed in Madhya Pradesh under PMAY-G during 2017-18. It accounted 16.99% of the total houses constructed under PMAY-G in India during the same period. The number of houses constructed in Uttar Pradesh was 301490 under PMAY-G during 2017-18, which accounted 15.03% of the total houses constructed in India.

There were 256107 and 191732 houses constructed in Odisha and Chhattisgarh respectively under PMAY-G during 2017-18. Odisha accounted for 12.77% and Chhattisgarh accounted for 9.56% of the total houses constructed under PMAY-G in India during 2017-18.

The number of houses constructed in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat was 176509, 100712, 80658, 69934 and 60296 respectively under PMAY-G during 2017-18. The aforesaid top 10 states accounted for 96.24% of the total houses constructed under PMAY-G in India as a whole during 2017-18.
