Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Hospitalizations in Public Hospitals under AB-PMJAY As on 19th June 2019

Ayushman Bharat Yojana comprises of two components namely (i) Provision of Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CPHC) through Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWC), and (ii) Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

As on 19th June 2019, the total number of hospital admissions under AB-PMJAY was 29,35,313; out of which 16,97,117 (57.82%) hospitalizations in private hospitals and 12,38,196 (42.18%) in public hospitals. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to number of hospitalizations in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY as on 19th June 2019 were Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Maharashtra.

The number of hospital admissions in public hospitals in Kerala was 391079 under AB-PMJAY as on 19th June 2019, which accounted 31.58% of the total hospitalizations in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY in India. There were 142123 hospitalizations in public hospitals in Chhattisgarh under AB-PMJAY as on 19.06.2019. It accounted 11.48% of the total hospitalizations in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY in India as on the same period. The number of hospital admissions in public hospitals in Karnataka was 128640 under AB-PMJAY as on 19th June 2019, which accounted 10.39% of the total hospitalizations in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY in India.

There were 116701 and 94845 hospitalizations in public hospitals in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat respectively under AB-PMJAY as on 19.06.2019. Tamil Nadu accounted for 9.43% and Gujarat accounted for 7.66% of the total hospitalizations in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY in India as on 19th June 2019.

The number of hospitalizations in public hospitals in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Maharashtra was 63818, 34814, 34385, 33553 and 31179 respectively under AB-PMJAY as on 19th June 2019.

The aforementioned top 10 states accounted for 86.51% of the total hospital admissions in public hospitals under AB-PMJAY in India as a whole as on 19.06.2019.
