Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Beneficiaries Covered under PM-KISAN Scheme As on 24th Feb 2020

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has been launched with a view to augment the income of the farmers by providing income support to all landholding farmers’ families across the country, to enable them to take care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs. As on 24th February 2020, there were 8.47 crore beneficiaries under PM-KISAN scheme in India. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme as on 24th Feb 2020 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Odisha and Tamilnadu.

The number of farmers benefited from Uttar Pradesh was 18,764,926 under PM-KISAN scheme as on 24th Feb 2020, which accounted 22.17% of the total farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme in India. There were 8,459,187 beneficiaries from Maharashtra under PM-KISAN scheme as on 24-02-2020. It accounted 9.99% of the total farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme in India as on the same time period. The number of beneficiaries under PM-KISAN scheme was 5,519,575 from Madhya Pradesh as on 24th Feb 2020, which accounted 6.52% of the total farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme in India.

There were 5,360,396 and 5,204,520 beneficiaries from Bihar and Rajasthan respectively under PM-KISAN scheme as on 24.02.2020. Bihar accounted for 6.33% and Rajasthan accounted for 6.15% of the total farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme in India as on 24-02-2020.

As on 24th Feb 2020, the number of farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme was 5,117,791, 4,912,445, 4,875,048, 3,628,657 and 3,534,527 from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Odisha and Tamilnadu respectively.
