Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Ayush Doctors at Primary Health Centres in Rural Areas As on 31st March 2019

As on 31st March 2019, there were 13,347 ayush doctors at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in rural areas of India. Top 10 States/UTs with respect to ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas as on 31st March 2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha, Assam, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

The number of ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in Uttar Pradesh was 4,209 as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 31.54% of the total ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in India. There were 1,803 ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in Bihar as on 31st March 2019. It accounted 13.51% of the total ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in India as on the same period. The number of ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in Gujarat was 1,273 as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 9.54% of the total ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in India.

There were 993 and 926 ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in Odisha and Assam respectively as on 31st March 2019. Odisha accounted for 7.44% and Assam accounted for 6.94% of the total ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in India as on 31st March 2019.

As on 31st March 2019, the number of ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu was 597, 578, 480, 397 and 308 respectively. These aforementioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 86.64% of the total ayush doctors at PHCs in rural areas of India as a whole as on 31st March 2019.
