Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Allopathic General Duty Medical Officers in Position at CHCs in Urban Areas As on 31st March 2019

As on 31st March 2019, there were 713 (84.38%) allopathic general duty medical officers (GDMOs) in position at community health centres (CHCs) in urban areas of India; out of 845 sanctioned. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of India as on 31.03.2019 were Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala.

The number of allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of Maharashtra was 141 as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 19.78% of the total allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas in India. There were 83 allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of West Bengal as on 31/03/2019. It accounted 11.64% of the total allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas in India as on the same period. The number of allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of Andhra Pradesh was 65 as on 31.03.2019, which accounted 9.12% of the total allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas in India.

There were 56 and 55 allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of Delhi and Punjab respectively as on 31st March 2019. Delhi accounted for 7.85% and Punjab accounted for 7.71% of the total allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas in India as on 31/03/2019.

As on 31st March 2019, the number of allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas of Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala was 50, 43, 41, 33 and 30 respectively. These aforementioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 83.73% of the total allopathic GDMOs in position at CHCs in urban areas in India as a whole as on 31.03.2019.
