The total amount released by Centre was Rs. 4950.21 crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) (PMAY (U)) including the subsumed projects of Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) during 2017-18. We have observed an annual growth of 265.3% in total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY to Rs. 4597.91 crore during 2016-17 versus Rs. 1258.68 crore during 2015-16. The top 5 States/ UTs in terms of amount released by Centre Assistance under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18 were Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
The Central Assistance released for Tamil Nadu was Rs. 903.91 crore under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18. It accounted 18.26% of the total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18. An annual growth of 42.44% has been seen in amount released by Centre for Tamil Nadu under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY from Rs. 634.6 crore during 2016-17 to Rs. 903.91 crore during 2017-18. The Central Assistance released for Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 809.09 crore under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18). It accounted 16.34% of the total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18. An annual growth of 93.71% has been seen in amount released by Centre for Madhya Pradesh under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY from Rs. 417.69 crore during 2016-17 to Rs. 809.09 crore during 2017-18.
The amount released by Centre for Gujarat was Rs. 480.58 crore under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18, which accounted 9.71% of the total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during this period. The amount released by Centre for Andhra Pradesh was Rs. 461.51 crore under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18, which accounted 9.32% of the total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during this period. The amount released by Centre for West Bengal was Rs. 354.79 crore under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18, which accounted 7.17% of the total amount released by Centre under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during this period. Annual growth of -21.08%, 95.92% and -20.54% has been found in amount released by Centre for Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal respectively under PMAY (U) including the subsumed project of RAY during 2017-18 over 2016-17.
