Top 10 States/UTs/ Organizations with respect to Fund Released for Fishermen by DADF under various Components of Scheme during 2017-18

The top 10 States/UTs/ Organizations with respect to Fund Released for Fishermen by Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DADF) under various Components of Scheme during 2017-18 (as on 03.01.2018) were Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, A & N Island, West Bengal, Fishcopfed, Lakshadweep and Mizoram.

Amount of Rs. 10000 lakh was released for Fishermen of Tamil Nadu by DADF during 2017-18, up by 4606% versus Rs. 212.5 lakh during 2016-17. It accounted 87.7% of the total fund released for Fishermen by DADF during 2017-18. There was a release of Rs. 544.29 lakh to Fishermen of Andhra Pradesh by DADF during 2017-18, which accounted 4.8% of the total fund released for Fishermen by DADF during 2017-18. Whereas the fund release was Rs. 0 lakh during 2016-17 for Fishermen of Andhra Pradesh by DADF. Amount of Rs. 210.6 lakh was released for Fishermen of Jammu & Kashmir by DADF during 2017-18. It accounted 1.8% of the total fund released for Fishermen by DADF during 2017-18. Whereas it was Rs. 0 lakh for Fishermen of Jammu & Kashmir by DADF during 2016-17.

There was a release of Rs. 180.32 lakh and Rs. 135 lakh for Fishermen of Assam and Madhya Pradesh respectively by DADF during 2017-18. We have observed annual growth of 122% and -33% in release of fund for Fishermen of Assam and Madhya Pradesh respectively by DADF during 2017-18 above 2016-17.

Release of fund was Rs. 82.59, 82.21, 63.64, 53.57 and 50.03 lakh to A & N Island, West Bengal, Fishcopfed, Lakshadweep and Mizoram respectively for welfare of Fishermen by DADF during 2017-18. Whereas it was Rs. 27.5, 0, 495.57, 0 and 120.5 lakh to A & N Island, West Bengal, Fishcopfed, Lakshadweep and Mizoram respectively for welfare of Fishermen by DADF during 2016-17.
