Top 10 States/UTs in terms of number of Paediatricians at Community Health Centres as on 31st March 2017

The number of Paediatricians in position at Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India was 864 as on 31st March 2017. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of number of Paediatricians in position at CHCs as on 31st March 2017 were Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

There were 189 Paediatricians in position at CHCs in Rajasthan as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 21.88% of the total Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India as on 31st March 2017. There were 106 Paediatricians in position at CHCs in Karnataka as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 12.27% of the total Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India as on 31st March 2017. There were 103 Paediatricians in position at CHCs in Uttar Pradesh as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 11.92% of the total Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India as on 31st March 2017.

In Odisha there were 58 Paediatricians in position at CHCs as on 31-03-2017, which accounted 6.71% of the total Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India. In Andhra Pradesh there were 56 Paediatricians in position at CHCs as on 31-03-2017, which accounted 6.48% of the total Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India.

The number of Paediatricians in position at CHCs in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal was 48, 45, 45, 41 and 36 respectively as on 31-03-2017. These above mentioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 84.14% of the total number of Paediatricians in position at CHCs in India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.

There were States/UTs namely Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, A & N Island, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi and Lakshadweep which had 0 (zero) Paediatricians in position at CHCs as on 31st March 2017.
