Top 10 States/UTs in terms of highest Crime rate of Kidnapping and Abduction during 2016

We had observed a Crime rate of 6.9 in Kidnapping and Abduction at All-India level during 2016. There were Kidnapping and Abduction Incidence of 77250, 83005 and 88008 reported in India during 2014 to 2016 respectively. We have seen an annual increase of 7.4% and 6% in Incidence of Kidnapping and Abduction during 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Delhi, Assam, Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh were the top 10 States/UTs in terms of highest Crime rate of Kidnapping and Abduction reported during 2016 in India. During 2016, Maximum Crime rate of Kidnapping and Abduction was seen in Delhi with 30.8 followed by Assam, Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with 18.8, 14.2, 10, 9.1, 8.5, 8, 7.7, 7.4 and 7.3 respectively.

Out of these above mentioned 10 States/UTs, we have observed Maharashtra with maximum increase of 146% and Arunachal Pradesh with maximum decrease of -23.3% in Incidence of Kidnapping and Abduction during 2016 over 2014.

Lakshadweep was the only State/UT with 0 (zero) Incidence of Kidnapping and Abduction reported during 2014 to 2016.
