Allocation of fund was Rs. 4148.67 crore in India under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in 2015-16. It has increased by 39.5% to Rs. 5786.96 crore during 2016-17 above 2015-16. Allocation of fund under NRDWP was Rs. 6775.16 crore during 2018-19 in India, up by 4.1% versus Rs. 6506.8 crore during 2017-18. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of fund allocated under NRDWP during 2018-19 were West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Allocation of fund was Rs. 917.82 crore for West Bengal under NRDWP during 2018-19, which accounted 13.55% of the total fund allocated in India. We have seen annual growth of 13.2% in allocation of fund for West Bengal under NRDWP during 2018-19 from Rs. 810.48 crore during 2017-18. There was allocation of Rs. 713.95 crore for Uttar Pradesh under NRDWP during 2018-19. It accounted 10.54% of the total fund allocated in India during the same period. Fund allocation for Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 539.09 crore under NRDWP during 2017-18. Allocation of fund under NRDWP was Rs. 692.13 crore during 2018-19 for Rajasthan, down by -22.4% versus Rs. 891.95 crore during 2017-18. Fund allocation for Rajasthan in 2018-19 accounted 10.22% of the total fund allocated in India during 2018-19.
There was allocation of Rs. 524.1 crore and Rs. 567.89 crore for Assam under NRDWP during 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively. Fund allocation for Assam in 2018-19 accounted 8.38% of the total fund allocated in India during the same period. There was allocation of Rs. 394.53 crore and Rs. 476.63 crore for Bihar under NRDWP during 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively. Fund allocation for Bihar in 2018-19 accounted 7.03% of the total fund allocated in India during the same period.
Allocation of fund was Rs. 474.16, 331.04, 309.07, 274.09 and 237.09 crore for Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat respectively under National Rural Drinking Water Programme in 2018-19. The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 73.71% of the total fund allocated in India as a whole during 2018-19.
