Total expenditure under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in India during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017) were Rs. 5394.79 Crores and Rs. 2990.7 Crores respectively. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of expenditure under NRDWP during 2017-18 (2990.7) were Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra.
Expenditure in Rajasthan under NRDWP was Rs. 495.65 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017). It accounted for 16.57% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during this period. Expenditure in Telangana under NRDWP was Rs. 386.8 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017). It accounted for 12.93% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure in Uttar Pradesh under NRDWP was Rs. 363.62 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017). It accounted for 12.16% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure in West Bengal under NRDWP was Rs. 198.38 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017). It accounted for 6.63% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure in Karnataka under NRDWP was Rs. 155.66 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017). It accounted for 5.20% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during this period.
These top 5 states accounted for 53.5% of the total expenditure under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in India as a whole during the year 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017).
Expenditure under NRDWP in Assam was Rs. 139.05 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017), which accounted 4.65% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure under NRDWP in Gujarat was Rs. 132.49 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017), which accounted 4.43% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure under NRDWP in Andhra Pradesh was Rs. 130.99 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017), which accounted 4.38% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure under NRDWP in Bihar was Rs. 120.03 Crores during 2016-17, which accounted 4.01% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period. Expenditure under NRDWP in Maharashtra was Rs. 106.19 Crores during 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017), which accounted 3.55% of the total expenditure under NRDWP during the same period.
The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 74.53% of the total expenditure under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in India as a whole during the year 2017-18 (upto 27-12-2017).
