Top 10 States/UTs in terms of Estimates of Sugar Production during Sugar Season 2016-17

The estimates of Sugar Production was 225.21 lac tons in India during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of Estimated Sugar Production during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

There was 80 lac tons of estimated Sugar Production in Uttar Pradesh during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17. It accounted 35.52% of the total estimates of Sugar Production in India during Sugar Season 2016-17. There was 53.28 lac tons of estimated Sugar Production in Maharashtra during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17. It accounted 23.66% of the total estimates of Sugar Production in India during Sugar Season 2016-17. There was 30.9 lac tons of estimated Sugar Production in Karnataka during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17. It accounted 13.72% of the total estimates of Sugar Production in India during Sugar Season 2016-17.

The estimates of Sugar Production was 15 lac tons in Tamil Nadu during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17, which accounted 6.66% of the total estimated Sugar Production in India during Sugar Season 2016-17. The estimates of Sugar Production was 11.67 lac tons in Gujarat during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17, which accounted 5.18% of the total estimated Sugar Production in India during Sugar Season 2016-17.

The Estimated Production of Sugar in Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh was 6.5, 6.19, 5.7, 5.4 and 4.1 lac tons respectively during Sugar Season (October-September) 2016-17.
