Top 10 States/UTs in terms of central share released under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) during 2017-18

The total amount released by Centre was Rs. 9310.88 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) (SBM (G)) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). We have observed an annual growth of 65.95% in total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) to Rs. 10559.58 crore during 2016-17 versus Rs. 6362.96 crore during 2015-16. The top 5 States in terms of amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017) were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.

The Central share released for Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 1889.68 crore under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). It accounted 20.3% of the total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). An annual growth of 63.85% has been seen in amount released by Centre for Uttar Pradesh under SBM (G) from Rs. 1153.33 crore during 2016-17 to Rs. 1889.68 crore during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). The Central share released for Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 1340.45 crore under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). It accounted 14.40% of the total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017). An annual growth of 10.71% has been seen in amount released by Centre for Madhya Pradesh under SBM (G) from Rs. 1210.77 crore during 2016-17 to Rs. 1340.45 crore during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017).

The amount released by Centre for Maharashtra was Rs. 755.33 crore under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017), which accounted 8.11% of the total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during this period. The amount released by Centre for Jharkhand was Rs. 669.6 crore under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017), which accounted 7.19% of the total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during this period. The amount released by Centre for Chhattisgarh was Rs. 400.72 crore under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017), which accounted 6.89% of the total amount released by Centre under SBM (G) during this period. Annual growth of 42.8%, 47.2% and 9.76% has been found in amount released by Centre for Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh respectively under SBM (G) during 2017-18 (upto 13-12-2017) over 2016-17.
