Top 10 States/UTs in terms of Capacity of Cold Storages assisted during 2014-15 to 2017-18

During 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017), there were 1057 Cold Storages with Capacity of 4223753 MT assisted in India. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of Capacity of Cold Storages assisted during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017) were Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Punjab, Orissa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The Capacity of Cold Storages assisted in Gujarat was 1231916 MT in 284 Cold Storages during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017), which accounted 29.17% of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India. There was assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity of 888427 MT in 198 Cold Storages in Uttar Pradesh during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017). It accounted 21.03% of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India. The Capacity of Cold Storages assisted in Maharashtra was 271399 MT in 78 Cold Storages during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017), which accounted 6.43% of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India.

There was assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity of 254638 MT in 56 Cold Storages in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana combined during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017). It accounted 6.03% of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India. The Capacity of Cold Storages assisted in Punjab was 243558 MT in 73 Cold Storages during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017), which accounted 5.77% of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India.

During 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017), the Capacity of Cold Storages assisted in Orissa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand was 239682 MT, 212594 MT, 196978 MT, 97785 MT and 90794 MT respectively. Orissa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand accounted for 5.67%, 5.03%, 4.66%, 2.32% and 2.15% respectively of the total assisted Cold Storages’ Capacity in India during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017). There were 67, 60, 45, 44 and 30 assisted Cold Storages in Orissa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand respectively during 2014-15 to 2017-18 (as on 30.11.2017).
