Top 10 states in terms of Fund Released for Income generation among tribal people under SCA to TSS and Article 275(1) during 2016-17

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs administers two major programmes, viz. Grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution and Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Scheme (SCA to TSS), wherein funds are released to the State Governments for income generation among tribal people through skill development and various training programmes. The top 10 states in terms of fund released for income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training under SCA to TSS and Article 275(1) of the Constitution during 2016-17 were Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Tripura and Bihar.

The amount of fund released was Rs. 7093.35 lakh to Odisha for income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during 2016-17. It accounted 35.06% of the total funds released to all the states for Income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during the same period. Fund released was Rs. 2998 lakh to Gujarat for income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during 2016-17. It accounted 14.82% of the total funds released to all the states for Income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during 2016-17. The amount of fund released was Rs. 2233.19 lakh to Madhya Pradesh for income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during 2016-17. It accounted 11.04% of the total funds released to all the states for Income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training during the same period.

Fund released was Rs. 2090 lakh, Rs. 1186.35 lakh, Rs. 1000 lakh, Rs. 990 lakh, Rs. 500 lakh, Rs. 450 lakh and Rs. 430.18 lakh to Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Tripura and Bihar respectively for income generation among tribal people through skill development and vocational training under SCA to TSS and Article 275(1) of the Constitution during 2016-17.
