Top 10 States in New Lives Covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana as on 30.09.2014

Aam Admi Bima Yojana came into effect from 01.01.2013 with the following main features: insurance cover of Rs.30,000 & Permanent Total Disability/ death due to accident cover of  Rs.75,000 and Free Add-on benefit of scholarship of Rs.100/- per month for each child to a maximum of  two children of the beneficiary studying between 9th to 12th Standard.

The total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in all the States and UTs of India was 2830914 as on 30th September, 2014.

Top 10 States/UTs in number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana as on 30th September, 2014 were: Rajasthan, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Bihar.

In Rajasthan, total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana was 459764, which accounted for 16.24% of the total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in the entire country. In Punjab, total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana was 452016, which accounted for 15.97% of the total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in the entire country. In Andhra Pradesh, total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana was 436031, which accounted for 15.4% of the total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in the entire country.

In Karnataka, total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana was 400725, which accounted for 14.16% of the total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in the entire country. In Uttar Pradesh, total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana was 289611, which accounted for 10.23% of the total number of new lives covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojana in the entire country.
