Top 10 States in Compensatory Afforestation upto 31.03.2015

The compensatory afforestation done in India was 674748.54 hectares upto 31.03.2015. The top 10 states in terms of the compensatory afforestation done were: Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Jammu & Kashmir upto 31.03.2015.

The compensatory afforestation done in Madhya Pradesh was 132056.7 hectares upto 31.03.2015. It was 19.57% of the compensatory afforestation done in India upto 31.03.2015. The compensatory afforestation done in Maharashtra was 94316.95 hectares upto 31.03.2015. It was 13.98% of the compensatory afforestation done in India upto 31.03.2015. The compensatory afforestation done in Gujarat was 79804 hectares upto 31.03.2015. It was 11.83% of the compensatory afforestation done in India upto 31.03.2015. The compensatory afforestation done in Kerala was 58578.4 hectares upto 31.03.2015. It was 8.68% of the compensatory afforestation done in India upto 31.03.2015. The compensatory afforestation done in Odisha was 42313.74 hectares upto 31.03.2015. It was 6.27% of the compensatory afforestation done in India upto 31.03.2015.

These top 5 states accounted for 60.33% of the total compensatory afforestation done in India as a whole upto 31.03.2015.

The compensatory afforestation done in Uttarakhand was 34548 hectares upto 31.03.2015 (5.12% of All India). The compensatory afforestation done in Chhattisgarh was 30450 hectares upto 31.03.2015 (4.51% of All India). The compensatory afforestation done in Andhra Pradesh was 27600.97 hectares upto 31.03.2015 (4.09% of All India). The compensatory afforestation done in Karnataka was 25920.92 hectares upto 31.03.2015 (3.84% of All India). The compensatory afforestation done in Jammu & Kashmir was 25612 hectares upto 31.03.2015 (3.8% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 81.69% of the total compensatory afforestation done in India as a whole upto 31.03.2015.
