Public Sector Banks are shaping the economic contours of our county and have been contributing to the economic growth of the Indian economy, in tandem with the policies of the Government of India. They have expanded the network of the ATMs at very expeditious speed to spread the 24X7 economy and in turn reduce the burden of the cash transactions on the bank branches on one hand; and to reduce the amount of cash in the economy/ with the general public. Public Sector Banks have taken a lead in installing ATMs in every nook and corner of the country.
The total number of ATMs installed by all the Public Sector Banks was 3037 during the Quarter: April 2015 to June 2015. Top 10 banks in terms of number of ATMs installation in the Quarter: April 2015 to June 2015 were: Bank of India, Canara Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank and Indian Overseas Bank.
The number of ATMs installation by Bank of India in the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015 was 708. Thus, ATMs installation by Bank of India was 23.31% of the total ATMs installation by all Public Sector Banks in India during the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015. The number of ATMs installation by Canara Bank in the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015 was 506. Thus, ATMs installation by Canara Bank was 16.66% of the total ATMs installation by all Public Sector Banks in India during the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015. The number of ATMs installation by Andhra Bank in the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015 was 301. Thus, ATMs installation by Andhra Bank was 9.91% of the total ATMs installation by all Public Sector Banks in India during the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015.
The number of ATMs installation by Bank of Baroda in the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015 was 261. Thus, ATMs installation by Bank of Baroda was 8.59% of the total ATMs installation by all Public Sector Banks in India during the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015. The number of ATMs installation by State Bank of India in the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015 was 227. Thus, ATMs installation by State Bank of India was 7.47% of the total ATMs installation by all Public Sector Banks in India during the Quarter: April 2015 – June 2015.
