The total merchandise trade of India with European countries was US $ 114976.59 million during 2015-16, down by -11.71% from US $ 130223.82 million during 2014-15. Annual decline of -0.25% has been seen in total merchandise trade of India with European countries to US $ 114687.91 million during 2016-17 over 2015-16. The total merchandise trade of India with European countries was US $ 70694.9 million during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct). The top 10 European countries in terms of total merchandise trade with India during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct) were Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom (U K), Belgium, Italy, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and Poland.
The total merchandise trade of India with Germany was US $ 12199.26 million during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct), which accounted 17.26% of the total merchandise trade of India with European countries. The total merchandise trade of India with Switzerland was US $ 11826.49 million during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct). It accounted 16.73% of the total merchandise trade of India with European countries during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct). The total merchandise trade of India with United Kingdom was US $ 7961.04 million during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct), which accounted 11.26% of the total merchandise trade of India with European countries.
The total merchandise trade of India with Belgium, Italy, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and Poland was US $ 6652.26 million, US $ 5692.95 million, US $ 5639.57 million, US $ 4373.66 million, US $ 3523.44 million, US $ 3153.48 million and US $ 1285.39 million respectively during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct). Belgium, Italy, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and Poland accounted for 9.41%, 8.05%, 7.98%, 6.19%, 4.98%, 4.46% and 1.82% respectively of the total merchandise trade of India with European countries during 2017-18 (Apr-Oct).
