Top 10 Cheque Clearance Centres in 2013-14

In India, number of cheque clearances was 1257 million during the Financial Year 2013-14. The amount involved was Rs. 93438 billion in cheque clearances in India during 2013-14. The top 10 centres in terms of number of cheque clearances accounted for 62.93% of total number of cheque clearances in India during FY 2013-14.

In Chennai, number of cheque clearances was 297 million; which was 23.63% of the total number of cheque clearances in the entire country. The amount involved was Rs. 21584 billion; which was 23.1% of the total amount involved in cheque clearances in India. In Mumbai, number of cheque clearances was 247 million; which was 19.65% of the total number of cheque clearances in the entire country. The amount involved was Rs. 16744 billion; which was 17.92% of the total amount involved in cheque clearances in India. In New Delhi, number of cheque clearances was 149 million; which was 11.85% of the total number of cheque clearances in the entire country. The amount involved was Rs. 12928 billion; which was 13.84% of the total amount involved in cheque clearances in India. In Ahmedabad, number of cheque clearances was 38 million; which was 3.02% of the total number of cheque clearances in the entire country. The amount involved was Rs. 2830 billion; which was 3.03% of the total amount involved in cheque clearances in India. In Jaipur, number of cheque clearances was 19 million; which was 1.51% of the total number of cheque clearances in the entire country. The amount involved was Rs. 1395 billion; which was 1.49% of the total amount involved in cheque clearances in India. These top 5 centres in terms of number of cheque clearances accounted for 59.66% of total number of cheque clearances in India during FY 2013-14.
