Teachers of Lecturer Category in State Public Universities – 2012-13

Ministry of Human Resource Development had initiated an All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) in 2011 to prepare a sound database on Higher Education in the country.  The survey covers all the institutions in the country engaged in imparting the higher education.  It is getting updated from the annual data submitted by the institutions.

The number of Lecturer (Selection Grade) – Male teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 12252. It was 91.93% of total Lecturer (Selection Grade) – Male teachers employed i.e. 13327 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13. The number of Lecturer (Selection Grade) – Female teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 8881. It was 91.21% of total Lecturer (Selection Grade) – Female teachers employed i.e. 9737 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13.

The number of Lecturer (Senior Scale) – Male teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 6045. It was 84.05% of total Lecturer (Senior Scale) – Male teachers employed i.e. 7192 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13. The number of Lecturer (Senior Scale) – Female teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 4047. It was 80.01% of total Lecturer (Senior Scale) – Female teachers employed i.e. 5058 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13.

The number of Lecturer – Male teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 88097. It was 95.18% of total Lecturer – Male teachers employed i.e. 92561 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13. The number of Lecturer – Female teachers employed in the institution category of State Public University in 2012-13 was 60700. It was 93.65% of total Lecturer – Female teachers employed i.e. 64817 in all university type educational institutions in India in 2012-13.
