State/UT-wise Un-Natural Deaths in India during 2015

There are two types of accidental deaths i.e. Natural accidental death and Un-natural accidental death. Un-natural accidental death consists of various causes like Air Crash, Ship Accidents, Collapse of Structure, Drowning, Electrocution, Accidental Explosion, Falls, Factory/Machine Accidents, Accidental Fire, Firearm, Mines or Quarry Disaster, Traffic Accidents, Stampede, Other Causes and Causes Not Known.

There were 336051 Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during the year 2015. Out of which 269277 (80.13%) were male, 66740 (19.86%) were female and 34 (0.01%) were transgender. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of Un-natural accidental deaths during 2015 were: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.

Un-natural accidental deaths reported in Maharashtra was 51435 during 2015, which accounted 15.31% of total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during same period. Out of these 51435 Un-natural accidental deaths; 40053 (77.87%) were male, 11373 (22.11%) were female and 9 (0.02%) were transgender. Un-natural accidental deaths reported in Uttar Pradesh was 32636 during 2015, which accounted 9.71% of total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during same period. Out of these 32636 Un-natural accidental deaths; 26540 (81.32%) were male, 6082 (18.64%) were female and 14 (0.04%) were transgender. Un-natural accidental deaths reported in Madhya Pradesh was 30513 during 2015, which accounted 9.08% of total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during same period. Out of these 30513 Un-natural accidental deaths; 22971 (75.28%) were male, 7539 (24.71%) were female and 3 (0.01%) were transgender.

Un-natural accidental deaths reported in Tamil Nadu was 28624 during 2015, which accounted 8.52% of total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during same period. Out of these 28624 Un-natural accidental deaths; 23117 (80.76%) were male, 5507 (19.24%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender. Un-natural accidental deaths reported in Rajasthan was 23134 during 2015, which accounted 6.88% of total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India during same period. Out of these 23134 Un-natural accidental deaths; 18877 (81.6%) were male, 4257 (18.4%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 49.5% of the total Un-natural accidental deaths reported in India as a whole during 2015.
