State/UT-wise Un-Natural Deaths due to Electrocution during 2015

In India 9986 Un-Natural deaths reported due to Electrocution during 2015. Out of these 9986 Electrocution deaths; the number of males, females and transgenders were 8460 (84.72%), 1526 (15.28%) and 0 (0%) respectively. The Electrocution deaths had a weightage of 3% out of the total number of Un-Natural deaths (336051) during 2015. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of Electrocution deaths during 2015 were: Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

There were 1545 Un-Natural deaths reported in Madhya Pradesh due to Electrocution during 2015, which accounted 15.47% of total Electrocution deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 1545 Electrocution deaths; 1284 (83.11%) were male and 261 (16.89%) were female. There were 1361 Un-Natural deaths reported in Maharashtra due to Electrocution during 2015, which accounted 13.63% of total Electrocution deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 1361 Electrocution deaths; 1143 (83.98%) were male and 218 (16.02%) were female. There were 1066 Un-Natural deaths reported in Rajasthan due to Electrocution during 2015, which accounted 10.67% of total Electrocution deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 1066 Electrocution deaths; 909 (85.27%) were male and 157 (14.73%) were female.

There were 759 Un-Natural deaths reported in Gujarat due to Electrocution during 2015, which accounted 7.6% of total Electrocution deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 759 Electrocution deaths; 575 (75.76%) were male and 184 (24.24%) were female. There were 756 Un-Natural deaths reported in Uttar Pradesh due to Electrocution during 2015, which accounted 7.57% of total Electrocution deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 756 Electrocution deaths; 659 (87.17%) were male and 97 (12.83%) were female.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 54.95% of the total Electrocution deaths reported in India as a whole during 2015.

Daman & Diu and Lakshadweep are the 2 union territories which had reported 0 (Zero) Electrocution deaths during 2015. The 5 States/UTs namely Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and A & N Island having less than 5 Electrocution deaths reported during 2015. During 2015, there were 3 Electrocution deaths reported in Dadra & Nagar Haveli followed by Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland with 2 each and A & N Island with 1.
