State/UT-wise Progress of Village Electrification in India as on 31.01.2017

This visualization shows State/UT-wise Progress of Village Electrification in India as on 31.01.2017. As of now majority of villages in India are electrified. In India 99.04% of villages were electrified at the end of January 2017.

Villages of 19 States/UTs namely Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Daman & Diu, D & N Haveli, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, A & N Island and Sikkim achieved 100% electrification as on 31.01.2017.

Villages of 6 States namely Uttar Pradesh (99.99%), West Bengal (99.97%), Karnataka (99.88%), Madhya Pradesh (99.88%), Uttarakhand (99.57%) and Tripura (99.3%) were electrified greater than 99% but less than 100% as on 31.01.2017.

Villages of 10 States/UTs namely Jammu & Kashmir, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland were electrified greater than 96% but less than 99% as on 31.01.2017.

Arunachal Pradesh was the only state in India which was lagging behind the race of electrification; only 76.63% of villages the state were electrified as on 31.01.2017.

Note: The figures are based on the data available on DDUGJY website (Except Union Territories); As per Power For All action plan document of Andaman and Nicobar Island, 100% village electrification has been achieved; Disclaimer:- The data included in monthly progress reports of village electrification published by CEA is provisional in nature as indicated in all the reports. The data in the report prior to October,2015 was updated every month based on the information received from States/distribution utilities as and when reported but the data for all the states for a particular month was generally not made available simultaneously to reflect the countrywide picture for a particular month. Number of total villages and number of electrified villages have also been adjusted for changes observed from Census 2011 data. As such, each monthly report of village electrification of CEA is independent of the earlier published reports and any derived data based on the earlier reports of CEA may not show a correct picture for that period.
