State/UT-wise Production of Buffalo Milk in India from 2013-14 to 2015-16

India has witnessed a growth of 2.34% in Production of Buffalo milk to 76459 thousand tonne during 2015-16 over 2014-15. We have seen a growth of 6.06% in Production of Buffalo milk from 70443 thousand tonne during 2013-14 to 74710 thousand tonne during 2014-15. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Production of Buffalo milk during 2015-16 were: Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana.

Production of Buffalo milk in Uttar Pradesh was 16865 thousand tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 22.06% of total Buffalo milk produced in India during the year. In Uttar Pradesh, there was a growth of 4.28% and -3.76% in Buffalo milk production during 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively over the previous year. Production of Buffalo milk in Rajasthan was 9937 thousand tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 13% of total Buffalo milk produced in India during the year. In Rajasthan, there was a growth of 16.98% and 10.6% in Buffalo milk production during 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively over the previous year. Production of Buffalo milk in Punjab was 7814 thousand tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 10.22% of total Buffalo milk produced in India during the year. In Punjab, there was a growth of 6.84% and 6.85% in Buffalo milk production during 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively over the previous year.

Production of Buffalo milk in Andhra Pradesh was 7445 thousand tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 9.74% of total Buffalo milk produced in India during the year. In Andhra Pradesh, there was a growth of -28.6% and 13.25% in Buffalo milk production during 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively over the previous year. Production of Buffalo milk in Haryana was 6772 thousand tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 8.86% of total Buffalo milk produced in India during the year. In Haryana, there was a growth of 5.07% and 2.17% in Buffalo milk production during 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively over the previous year.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 63.87% of the total Buffalo milk produced in India as a whole during 2015-16.
