State/UT-wise Percentage of Schools with Computers during 2015-16

There were Schools with Computers in India during 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 were 24.8%, 26.42% and 27.31% respectively. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of having highest Percentage of Schools with Computers during 2015-16 were Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Kerala and Delhi.

Lakshadweep is the only state which had 100% Schools with Computers from 2013-14 to 2015-16. Puducherry had 98.77% Schools with Computers during 2015-16. We have seen an increase of 1.15% in percentage of Schools with Computers in Puducherry from 97.62% during 2013-14. Chandigarh had 94.53% Schools with Computers during 2015-16. We have seen a decrease of -1.3% in percentage of Schools with Computers in Chandigarh from 95.83% during 2013-14.

Kerala had 94.5% Schools with Computers during 2015-16. We have seen an increase of 1.87% in percentage of Schools with Computers in Kerala from 92.63% during 2013-14. Delhi had 83.89% Schools with Computers during 2015-16. We have seen an increase of 2.33% in percentage of Schools with Computers in Delhi from 81.56% during 2013-14.

The bottom 5 States/UTs in Percentage of Schools with Computers during 2015-16 were Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal. Bihar had 9.37% Schools with Computers during 2015-16; followed by Jharkhand with 10.28%, Assam with 10.76%, Meghalaya with 11.74% and West Bengal with 12.67%.

Note: Availability of at least one computer is checked in all the schools.
