As per National Family Health Survey, increasing trend has been seen in India in percentage of households using iodized salt from 76.1 % in 2012-13 (NFHS-3) and 93.1% in 2015-16 (NFHS-4).
Assam and Sikkim have highest percentage of households using iodized salt99.6% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4). Dadra & Nagar Haveli has lowest percentage of households using iodized salt70.7% during 20zed15-16 (NFHS-4)in comparison to other states.
Seven States/UTs viz. Odisha, Haryana, Puducherry, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are below the National value 93.1% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4).
