Under Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/ Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) Scheme the funds are released to various Implementing Agencies to assist the needy disabled persons (Divyangjan) including mentally challenged divyangjan, in all the States in procuring durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern, standard aids and appliances that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhance their economic potential. The scheme also envisages conduct of corrective surgeries, whenever required, before providing an assistive device.
Funds released and utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India was Rs. 12186.48 lakhs, Rs. 11728.01 lakhs, Rs. 13661.19 lakhs and Rs. 9714.23 lakhs during 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 (as on 30.11.2016) respectively. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of funds released and utilized under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies during 2016-17 (as on 30.11.2016) were: Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.
During 2016-17, Funds released & utilised in Uttar Pradesh under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies was Rs. 2070.04 lakhs. It accounted 21.31% of the total funds released & utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India during the same period. During 2016-17, Funds released & utilised in Gujarat under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies was Rs. 1399.01 lakhs. It accounted 14.4% of the total funds released & utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India during the same period. During 2016-17, Funds released & utilised in Maharashtra under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies was Rs. 957.36 lakhs. It accounted 9.86% of the total funds released & utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India during the same period.
During 2016-17, Funds released & utilised in West Bengal under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies was Rs. 709.59 lakhs. It accounted 7.3% of the total funds released & utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India during the same period. During 2016-17, Funds released & utilised in Madhya Pradesh under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies was Rs. 672.5 lakhs. It accounted 6.92% of the total funds released & utilised under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India during the same period.
The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 59.79% of the total funds released and utilized under ADIP scheme by various Implementing Agencies in India as a whole during 2016-17 (as on 30.11.2016).
