State/UT-wise Estimates of Egg Production by Fowls during 2007-12

India has witnessed an increasing trend in estimates of egg production by fowls during 2007-2012. In 2007-08, egg production by fowls was 520672 Lakh across the country, which increased to 647469 Lakh in 2011-12.

Highest egg production by fowls (212103 Lakh) was in Andhra Pradesh in 2011-12 followed by 175884 Lakh in in 2007-08 as compared to other states. The lowest egg production by fowls (1 Lakh) was in Delhi in 2011-12 and 19 Lakh in Daman & Diu in 2007-08 and as compared to other states.

Note: Sikkim, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Delhi figures from 2007-08 onwards are estimated based on the number of animals in milk as per livestock census 2007. Totals may not tally due to rounding off of the figures.
