State/UT-wise Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction during 2016

There were 89875 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction (Sec.363 to 369 IPC) reported during 2016 in India, Out of which 23350 (25.98%) were male Victims and 66525 (74.02%) were female Victims. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of maximum number of Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction (Sec.363 to 369 IPC) during 2016 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.

In Uttar Pradesh there were 15922 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction reported during 2016, Out of which 2908 (18.3%) were male Victims and 13014 (81.7%) were female Victims. Out of these 15922 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction, 9678 (60.8%) were Child Victims and 6244 (39.2%) were Adult Victims. In Maharashtra there were 9707 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction reported during 2016, Out of which 3292 (33.9%) were male Victims and 6415 (66.1%) were female Victims. Out of these 9707 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction, 8260 (85.1%) were Child Victims and 1447 (14.9%) were Adult Victims. In Bihar there were 7329 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction reported during 2016, Out of which 1734 (23.7%) were male Victims and 5595 (76.3%) were female Victims. Out of these 7329 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction, 3257 (44.4%) were Child Victims and 4072 (55.6%) were Adult Victims.

There were 7237 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction reported in Madhya Pradesh during 2016, Out of which 2243 (31%) were male Victims and 4994 (69%) were female Victims. Out of these 7237 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction, 6114 (84.5%) Victims were Children and 1123 (15.5%) Victims were Adults. There were 6982 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction reported in Delhi during 2016, Out of which 2941 (42.1%) were male Victims and 4041 (57.9%) were female Victims. Out of these 6982 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction, 6254 (89.6%) Victims were Children and 728 (10.4%) Victims were Adults.

Lakshadweep is the only union territory which had reported 0 (zero) Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction (Sec.363 to 369 IPC) during 2016.
