State/ UT-wise total length of rural roads in India as on 31st March 2015

The total length of rural roads in India was 2437255 Kms. as on 31st March 2015. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of total length of rural roads in India as on 31st March 2015 were: Maharashtra, Assam, Odisha, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

As on 31st March 2015, total length of rural roads in Maharashtra was 267402 Kms. It accounted 10.97% of the total length of rural roads in India as on same period. As on 31st March 2015, total length of rural roads in Assam was 255389 Kms. It accounted 10.48% of the total length of rural roads in India as on same period. As on 31st March 2015, total length of rural roads in Odisha was 217919 Kms. It accounted 8.94% of the total length of rural roads in India as on same period. As on 31st March 2015, total length of rural roads in Karnataka was 184918 Kms. It accounted 7.59% of the total length of rural roads in India as on same period. As on 31st March 2015, total length of rural roads in Madhya Pradesh was 177060 Kms. It accounted 7.26% of the total length of rural roads in India as on same period.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 45.24% of the total length of rural roads in India as a whole as on 31st March 2015.
