Total area of 16,068.5 hectare was proposed for herbal cultivation under National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in India in 2020-21. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to area proposed for herbal cultivation under NAM in 2020-21 were Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat and Nagaland.
The area proposed for herbal cultivation was 4,270, 2,666.9, 2,653, 1,285.6, 1,101.3, 955, 795.5, 591, 544 and 243.3 hectare under NAM for Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat and Nagaland respectively in 2020-21.
