State/UT-wise Primary Health Centres required in Tribal Areas as on 31-03-2017

There was a requirement of 4690 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Tribal Areas of India as on 31st March 2017. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of PHCs required in Tribal Areas of India as on 31-03-2017 were Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The number of PHCs required in Tribal Areas of Madhya Pradesh was 713 as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 15.2% of the total PHCs required in Tribal Areas of India. The requirement of PHCs in Tribal Areas of Maharashtra was 450 as on 31st March 2017. It accounted for 9.59% of the total PHCs required in Tribal Areas of India as on 31-03-2017. The number of PHCs required in Tribal Areas of Odisha was 449 as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 9.57% of the total PHCs required in Tribal Areas of India.

The requirement of PHCs in Tribal Areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat was 434 and 401 respectively as on 31st March 2017. Rajasthan and Gujarat accounted for 9.25% and 8.55% respectively of the total PHCs required in Tribal Areas of India as on 31st March 2017.
