State/UT-wise Pregnant Women received 4 or more ANC checkups in India during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to pregnant women (PW) received 4 or more Antenatal Care (ANC) checkups in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

The number of PW received 4 or more ANC checkups in Uttar Pradesh was 5,158,335 during 2019-20, out of which 371,174 (7.2%) checkups were from urban areas and 4,787,161 (92.8%) checkups were from rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 2,370,252 PW received 4 or more ANC checkups in Bihar during 2019-20. Out of these 2,370,252 checkups; 243,104 (10.26%) checkups were in urban areas and 2,127,148 (89.74%) checkups were in rural areas of Bihar during 2019-20. The number of PW received 4 or more ANC checkups in Maharashtra was 1,943,469 during 2019-20, out of which 583,062 (30%) checkups were from urban areas and 1,360,407 (70%) checkups were from rural areas of Maharashtra.

During 2019-20, there were 1,518,862 and 1,324,116 PW received 4 or more ANC checkups in Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal respectively. Out of these 1,518,862 checkups in Madhya Pradesh, 251,280 (16.54%) and 1,267,582 (83.46%) checkups were from urban and rural areas respectively; and out of these 1,324,116 checkups in West Bengal, 85,049 (6.42%) and 1,239,067 (93.58%) checkups were from urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.
