State/UT-wise Pre-Natal Diagnostic Premises Inspected under Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act up to March 2019

There were 459,019 inspections conducted in India under the pre-conception and pre-natal diagnostic techniques (prohibition of sex selection) act (PC & PNDT) act, 1994 at pre-natal diagnostic premises up to March 2019. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to inspections conducted under PC & PNDT act at pre-natal diagnostic premises up to March 2019 were Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The number of pre-natal diagnostic premises inspected was 224,705 in Maharashtra under PC & PNDT act up to March 2019, which accounted 48.95% of the total inspections conducted at pre-natal diagnostic premises in India. There were 48,849 inspections conducted at pre-natal diagnostic premises in Punjab under PC & PNDT act up to March 2019. It accounted 10.64% of the total pre-natal diagnostic premises inspected in India under PC & PNDT act up to the same period. The number of inspections conducted at pre-natal diagnostic premises was 29,410 in Haryana under PC & PNDT act up to March 2019, which accounted 6.41% of the total inspections conducted at pre-natal diagnostic premises in India.

There were 27,021 and 15,707 inspections conducted at pre-natal diagnostic premises in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively under PC & PNDT act up to March 2019. Uttar Pradesh accounted for 5.89% and Rajasthan accounted for 3.42% of the total pre-natal diagnostic premises inspected in India under PC & PNDT act up to March 2019.
