State/UT-wise percentage of mothers who had at least 4 antenatal care visits during 2015-16 (NFHS-4)

As per National Family Health Survey, significant increasing trend has been seen in India in percentage of mothers who had at least 4 antenatal care visits to 51.2% in 2015-16 (NFHS-4) versus 37% in 2005-06 (NFHS-3).

Andaman and Nicobar Islands has highest of 92.1% of mothers who had at least 4 antenatal care visits during 2015-16 (NFHS-4). Bihar has lowest of 14.4% of mothers who had at least 4 antenatal care visits during 2015-16 (NFHS-4) in comparison to other States/UTs.

Eleven States/UTs viz. Meghalaya, Assam, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland and Bihar are below the National value of 51.2% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4).
