As per National Family Health Survey (NFHS), decreasing trend has been seen in India in percentage of anaemic children aged 6-59 months from 69.4 % in 2012-13 (NFHS-3) and 58.4% in 2015-16 (NFHS-4).
Dadra and Nagar Haveli had highest percentage of anaemic children aged 6-59 months 84.4% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4). Mizoram had lowest percentage of anaemic children aged 6-59 months 17.7% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4) in comparison to other states.
Fifteen States/UTs viz. Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Chandigarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh were above the National value 58.4% during 2015-16 (NFHS-4).
